Cultural Programme

Our school in Barcelona offers far more than just a Spanish course. Our students receive an extensive cultural programme from Monday-Friday.

Every Saturday there is an optional excursion to places or towns near Barcelona, at vastly reduced prices.

The aim of this cultural programme is to ensure that our students:

  1. Truly benefit from and thoroughly enjoy their stay in Barcelona. This is a beautiful and fascinating city in which to learn Spanish.
  2. Learn and understand more about Spanish culture, history and customs. This way students not only have better knowledge of the language, but also of the people of Spain and their way of life.
  3. Have the opportunity to practice in real situations all the Spanish that they have learnt in class.

 

Guided Tours

Guided visits are to places or events of current interest in the city, for example, the Picasso Museum, Gothic Quarter, Basilica of the Sacred Family, Pueblo Español and Montjuic.

 

Afternoon Activities

Salsa lessons in the school, cinema, workshops (theatre, craft, board-games), etc. During the summer there are also sports on the beach (volley-ball, football, etc).

Evening Visits

Students regularly have the opportunity to go out with teachers for 'tapas' in various parts of the city, dinners, parties, etc.

 

Full day excursion

Towns and places of interest in Cataluna. We visit places such as Rupit (a medieval settlement), Montserrat, Girona, Sitges, Tarragona and the Dalí Museum in Figueres.

Weekend excursions

We periodically organise weekend visits to places such as Madrid, Granada, Seville, Salamanca or Cantabria. Also, during winter, students can ski in the Pyrenees. The price of these excursions varies depending on the destination and the mode of transport used.

 

Arrival in Barcelona

Most of our students arrive in Barcelona the Sunday before the commencement of their course.

Barcelona Airport

Once you have arrived at Barcelona Airport, there are three ways in which to arrive at your accommodation.

  1. Take the Airport bus(approximately €3,50) or Train (approx. 1,50€) from the airport to Plaza Cataluya, in the centre of Barcelona . From there you can take a taxi to your accommodation.
  2. Take a taxi from the airport direct to your accommodation (approximately 25 Euros).
  3. Use our airport collection service. We shall personally meet you at the airport and take you direct to your accommodation.

It is important to remember that the accommodation is available from the Sunday before the commencement of your course, to the Saturday after.
